[Question] RP Gain in Battlegrounds

As long as its not validated as not working as intended, I leave it here in the Support Forums.
There was a Thread some time ago (couldnt filter it out) about RP Gain in Battlegrounds. Statement of the players have been that they cap RR much faster than EXP. Which kinda all players thought is intended. But a Dev/GM, I think it was Blue, clarified, that this is not the intended behaviour for RP-Gain. It should be possible to cap both, RP and EXP, before going to the next BG/Endgame RvR. Afaik it is 10x RP-Gain in Battlegrounds right now. So considering Staffs Statement this might be a bit too high. Any chance for another clarification on this? Any tests neccessary? Already changed? (sorry im a bit left out these weeks due to no internet and thus no uthgard ![]() |

I have leveled a char recently, it does xp a lot faster in bg's then pve so i did bg's only. Brae capped out at 33(started at 29), wilt 40(started at 36).

Xp gained for player kills is also 10x. Capping realm rank before level only depends at which level you enter the battleground(s). I think I saw a gm say that battlegrounds weren't designed to be leveled through without ever touching pve. Even though I'm strictly a rvr lover/player and dislike pve I see no problem with that as leveling through pve is quite normal. |

Its 1x RP and 10x XP. You mixed it up. If you don't /xp off you should cap XP before RP in most cases. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

Never, no way, not in a 1000 years. ![]() Like Tuttar says, starting brae at lvl 29 will get you RP capped at 33, starting Wilton at lvl 36 will get you RP capped at lvl 40. So, you WILL cap out RP wise EVERY time (yes, in Thid for sure as well) before you cap out XP wise if you do not start at the last 2 levels of the BG... In defense of truth-to-experience.

Yes if you soloing is very very fast xp. In brae with 1 solo kill you do maybe 0,75 of bub. Rvr is the best way for xp.
And people say that GMs dont promote rvr XDDDDD |

Amount of xp gained per kill is nice but calling it "best exp" is just wrong. You're not chain killing players like you can mobs. Players don't respawn indefinitely and unlike mobs they can think (well not all of them

My char was/is a bd. No grp util, and solo pve is by far the slowest I leveled so far. Really glad we have bg's and I think xp/rp is fine as it is.

It wouldn't be hard to implement /rp off without having people linger in the BGs. Just disable it after a couple of EXP deaths and only let it be turned back on after getting another level. Also, it wouldn't be able to be used at the same time as /xp off. I think that would cover it nicely and allow us to cap BOTH EXP and RPs in the BGs.

This actually is a good idea...until now I thought /rp off would be bad for rvr due to ppl staying in BGs forever but the idea with counting xp-deaths and needing another level for using it again is really good ![]() |

Or revamp the BGs as was planned so that the RP range per level ratio becomes high enough for players to be able to cap XP before RP. Not to mention so they can start doing so at around lvl 19-20 instead of lvl 30. This is the only real solution imo, the rest is a workaround which is only going to create nasty side effects.

If you could list the nasty side effects that you think my idea would generate, I'd love to hear them. Your plan is to either lower the RP gains or raise the EXP gains or a combination of the two. Neither of the two are particularly appealing to me.
You already gain EXP at a very good rate, and raising that rate is unrealistic. The only solution would be to lower the rate of RP gain. This is not a very attractive solution. So why not keep the rate we have but implement a limited /rp off system? The only problem I see is that it's slightly complicated for the player. :} Also known as: Kiorein, Acolyn, Skiploom, and Krinton.

you could as well increase the rp-cap for the bgs, so that you get out of thid at 5L2 or something...or maybe 4L8
![]() 20-28 - 2L2 29-35 - 3L2 36-43 - 4L2 44-49 - 4L8 or 5L2 or whatever fits right... there could even be overlapping like: 20-30 - 2L2 28-36 - 3L2 35-45 - 4L2 44-49 - 4L8 or 5L2 or whatever fits right... overlapping would help balance the BGs...if the highest one is empty ppl may go the one below or the other way round...ofc this may really cause nasty side effects, which are hard to foresee ![]() |

I'm talking about lowering the starting and ending level for BGs while decreasing their levelrange. This in combination with an appropriate RR cap will make sure that you can cap XP before you cap RP.
For instance: 15-19 - 1L5 20-24 - 2L0 25-29 - 2L5 30-34 - 3L0 35-39 - 3L5 40-44 - 4L0 I don't know how much RP you get at the lower levels but like I said it should be high enough to enable you to cap XP before RP at the current rates. PS: The first 4 BGs would preferably be the old maps, the last 2 NF maps. In defense of truth-to-experience.

Would be nice can cap thidranki at rr 4l8-5, because there are lot of classes with very important rr5 abilities for rvr. But this could kick players from emain to bgs.
