Why do I as a Minstrel with max instruments and Mastery of Focus get my stun and DD's resisted 80% of the time, but a Shaman can duck fart a level 27 disease for 100% landing rate?

check your resist %

with MoF2 his stun resist should be at 15%.
Nothing new, happens to me too.

Well after some days with the resist rate on numbers i can tell on my 50 mins with 50 instr, i get a 42%resist rate on DD and about a 40% on stun, i can do ScreenShoot if needed , i have been doing a lot of rvr and pve, and seems a lot !!

Blue, is it possible that somewhere in a code player resistances are affecting resist rates, without it being shown to us (or perhaps you haven't noticed either??)

No, not possible. The code for players consists only of base rate + spelllevel->targetlevel modifier.

The spell level can only be influenced by MoF.

The only exception maybe a certain spellhandler has different logic which I didn't see. But that applies only to one specific spell type. The most spell handlers use the standard calculation.

Just show us a screenshot of your "80%" resistrate.

For all future complains about spell resistrate. Please give specific details. Which target you attacked (level, type), which spell you used (level, type), which level you had and MoF level if skilled.

Althouh you put in the % Number if resist, I still wonder about these strange resists in a row. Its pretty much normal that you will have 2-3 resists in a row when you got a resist. (vs Player)

Only other possible explanation would be that a pseudo RNG is using a flawed method of generating numbers

I'll start considering such statements as flame attack to Uthgard Staff. It was explained several times and with several reasons why the RNG definitely is not the reason. I really should make a sticky post so that this gets out of everyones head.

Please dont take that as a flame attack. It does seem like something is off here... I understand that extensive testing is needed to proove some of these things, but the resist streaks on this server ( even with mof 3) seem unlike anything many of us have experienced over playing 5-6 years of DAOC on live. The RNG seems to not spread out that base % chance over a reasonable period of occurance.

Additionally, as a person who is new to these forums, I must admit that the the search function on these forums is not the most user friendly in terms of finding the most relevant threads and posts pertaining to he concept you are trying to search. It can be very hard and time consuming to do a search on certain topics- like "resist rate" etc - and get the good answers and points on the subject you want to know about, without having to read and sift thru a lot of garbage.

Ill give you an example that you can test yourself right now.

In the Hibernia forum, on the FIRST page (only a few threads down from the top) there is a useful thread for newbie bards titled

"Bard Spec"

The other day, I was making a bard and wanted to get some ideas on useful bard specs on Uthgard, so I came to the forums and did a search with the keywords "Bard Spec" (which just so happens to be the title of a thread that has the exact content Im looking for. The results:

1436 matches (threads referenced)

and the ACTUAL thread that is titled "Bard Spec" did not get listed until 2nd page of results...which just so happens to be the 60-somethingth thread down from the first return result of the search... odd no?

Please test this and see for yourself. I really do VERY much appreciate all the hard work you guys give to allow us to enjoy DAOC, but I do want you to understand that it is not as easy as you think to just do a search on these forums to get relevant info you need to answer your questions or concerns... which is why many of us Uthgard will continue to ask things that require repeated responses from the Devs. I can only ask that you continue to be patient and kind, as you have been, and not be mean to us for bringing up something that you feel you have covered a million times. I can only imagine how annoying it must be to have to answer the same thing a million times over, but that I guess, is why more stickies or GM announcements are needed.Especially considering the fact that the OF changes and evironment you have created are going to attract more and more new players to Uthgard, who are all going to share in many of these repeated concerns.

Really don't. I'm simply trying to justify to myself my experiences from the game. Nobody is accusing anyone, but we haven't had ONE player confirm that there is nothing wrong with resist rate/streaks!

Now I understand you probably know the code and mechanics of Uthgard better than anything, but allow the possibility that there is something wrong in this case. And we understand that you, knowing the code and seeing nothing wrong, cannot accept that there is a problem. And nobody expects you to waste hours to search for something which might not even exist, but trusting the code and experiencing it first hand are two different things.

That said, I will keep searching for that "nothing" and try to find proofs. Weather you'd like to see those proofs is another story.

Once and for all. Look at my test on live yesterday and see the streaks of resists and hits. All happened in the same test run without changing anyting. Its absolutely normal.
