First Timer. Trouble Connecting to DAoC. Please help!

Hi. im new to this but i downloaded the game, downloaded the free server tool. now i get a error. says
Socket Error #10054 Connection reset by peer. Can anyone help me? |

Getting started guide this should give problem free starting unless theres some hardware / software problems with your computer if your still having troubles try do a patch with complete file check - checked x if still problems after that try irc maybe for some computer wiz help |

i downloaded darness rising. then patched it.
then downloaded the portal thing for server. now it wont work lol isnt that all i had to do? |

i did need help now.
Now it says Game DLL not found at: i got the portal open and game installed. but it says that when i try to create user on ANY server |

make sure to change your path to where you installed daoc
example: c:\files\ilikedaoc\daoc |

Another Error.
i got v 1.68 or something like that but when i sign in my user name / pw it says loading v 1.91. and at the last inch of the loading it freezes up. like | | thats much. is there something wrong? i let it go for a few hours and i kept checking on it but it didnt have any progress. |

1.61 is the patcher version
your client version is 1.91 which is the best for uthgard atm not sure on the freeze up - maybe firewall kicking in or something else (not sure) try run the patcher with all files checkup - checked.. once done try connect again |

how do i do that?
and it the loading window that freezes. wont let me ALT+TAB or ESC to get out of it. have to keep rebooting computer. but it loads fine up until that last | | bit |

the cursor even pops up. but cant do anything else.
the auto patcher says Cancel and Play! but like. i dunno says everything is up to date i believe |

Do you have zonealarm as a firewall ?
