I have a question on Hunter pets. I searched the forums and could not find a topic on this but some were in German.

Why is it the pets are limited in level according to the Beastcraft skill? From what I have seen, no other class has this restriction. I understand the pets have not had all there powers implemented but the Lvl 1 wolf pet should be 80% of your level.

I cast the lvl 6 pet and its level is 13th. I think the charm speels and wolf summoning have gotten the same restriction but it shouldnt be that way.

Look here.

http://daoc.catacombs.com/display_spells.cfm?Hunter

It shows the charms being limited with a max level monster to charm according to the spell you cast. The wolf summoning spells do not have a limit but will summon a pet 80% of your current level.

Any way to fix this? I am not asking to have the pet abilities added. Merely fixing the level for now. Hunters are pitiful here as it is.

Thanks

the Hunter's Companion (beastcraft lvl1 pet) is on uthgard buggy, the first pet can you cast with lvl 7 in beastcraft.
This must be fixed, please

but what you mean with lvl 6 pet and it is lvl 13 ?
The pet is 80% from your lvl, it is beastcraft-lvl independently

what is on this buggy ??

the 80% are interesting if you want charming.

Lvl 32 Hunter with 7 beastcraft. I cast the level 7th summon wolf and my pet is lvl 13th. It should be near 26th.

It sais in every publication that the wolf will be 80% of the hunters level. No matter what pet is cast. here is another link. The charm spell is set to 13th lvl max . I think something got mixed up.

Character builder with 1.79 patch also shows it and the ability Call of the hounds but thats another issue.

This is just a bug or was it set to be this way. A yes its broke and we can get to it someday or thats the way we want it. :)

Thanks

Yep description say 80%, but what would be the purpose of the higher level instant pets? Hunter pets dont have any abilities (proc) do they?
On the other hand theurgs ice pets beyond level 25 dont have any sense either so ...

yes, Hunter pets have procs and abilities as they progress. Here is a article.

http://www.freewebs.com/daochunters/beastcraft.htm

It shows Desease at 32 and frenzy at 42 and 50.

I will be disapointed after I did this work and it is a waste. I think Zippity would be proud :)

Basicly hunter pets are not finished. That is fine I am patient but this is a bug. The pets should reflect 80% of your level and they do not. They reflect the stats as if you charmed them an that is not right.

Fix lvl 1 pet spell. It creates nothing.

Set pet level to 80% of casters level.

Add procs to 32 40 50th level pets

Thanks :)

Dark Age of Camelot

Version 1.56 Release Notes

=======================================

HUNTER CHANGES

We've decided to make Hunters more effective in Melee combat. These changes will help them greatly in both PvE as well as RvR:

- All Hunter melee skills base damages have been increased "behind the scenes". The specific melee skills involved are sword and spear. Hunters will now notice that they do more damage every time they attack an opponent with these weapon types. Hunters now do more base damage than the other two Archer classes, and will not need to do anything to take advantage of this change - it will happen automatically every time they hit with a weapon.

- Hunters have been given a new line of spells in their Beastcraft specialization that allows them to insta-cast a wolf pet. This can be done at any time, even in combat. These are shouts that cost 25% power and have a 2 minute recast time. Please note that if a Hunter is controlling a charmed pet, they cannot summon a wolf pet. Here's the list:

1 Hunter's Companion 80%
7 Hunter's Pet 80%
13 Hunter's Ally 80%
20 Hunter's Protector 80%
32 Hunter's Avatar 82%

Dark Age of Camelot
Test Version 1.85 Release Notes
Quest System and Class Changes
July 27, 2006
==================================

Hunters

- Hunters have a new instant-cast pet at spec 40 and 50 in Beastcraft with the following details:

40: Hunter's Elder Protector - Spawns at 85% of the Hunter's level and has a chance to proc Disease (Rabies) as well as perform various melee styles on the target.

50: Hunter's Elder Avatar - Spawns at 90% of the Hunter's level and has a greater chance to proc Disease (Rabies) as well as perform various melee styles on the target.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

So it looks lik the pet procs came long after Uth patches.

I found this interesting though. This was in a lower patch for hunter abilities that are not implemented here yet.

Dark Age of Camelot

Version 1.69 Release Notes

April 14, 2004

===================================
Hunter

- Hunters may now attempt to find hidden enemies who have just killed one of their Realmmates via a new ability called "Call of the Hounds". To activate this new ability, the body of your Realmmate must first be selected. Then, six hounds are "called" that will sniff their way to any nearby enemies (stealthed or not). The hounds move at a very slow speed, but should they somehow catch up to a stealther, they will not attack but will bark incessantly instead. If there are no nearby enemies when this ability is used, no hounds will be summoned.

I saw SM pets had a typo and it was fixed because they were able to exploit in rvr.

How about looking at this please so Hunter will no longer be exploited by other classes.

A simple acknowledgement would be nice please.

Yep nice work avarice - tough one of the patchnotes is post 1.80.

Interesting: Hunter does more dmg in melee than ranger/scout.?

Is this to any extend introduced to uthgard?

the dmg by scout in melee has always been poor even if specced melee,
on uth a melee ranger vs melee hunter is a fair fight, i gladly remember fights agains a hunter kobold named Mouse wich were pretty pretty hard for me, there is another ranger that commonly lurks in DF wich is pretty good in DF, dont remember the name :P

melee ranger is stronger on uth,
of course I'm a gimp noob blabla,
but I'm very sure.
in a nutshell, it's
fast speed, dual wield, nice styles, dmg add vs
slow speed, higher miss rates, at most decent styles, low&missing dmg add(pet)

don't know about the base dmg mentioned in patch 1.56, but I want more. (who doesn't ;))
