Alright so I managed to patch LotM and was really excited to play. I connect, loading screen comes up-everythings fine. I click on Create Character and I CTD as it says "Camelot has experienced a problem and needs to Close" or something like that.
I opened up my firewall, followed the guides, searched the forums, tried connecting to other servers. It was patched to 1.89. I'm running: Dell DIMENSION 8400 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz 3.39GHz, 2.00 GB of Ram RADEON X850 XT ATI Tray Tools Help? |

Had this after a Windows reinstallation - Patching to Darkness Risings with the "Check All Files"-Checkbox on helped
Be nice. :)

Ironic, I decided to downgrade to Darkness Rising and had it update over night.
I will edit this post with my results soon. TY Edit: With Darkness Rising I experience the same problem. Here is the additional info given by the error: AppName: game.dll AppVer: 0.2.0.0 ModName: d3d9.dll ModVer: 5.3.2600.2180 Offset: 000a4e72 It happens at the same time as the LotM and in the exact same way. Someone please help me-don't make me go back to RF. |

Something with the drivers. Tried reinstalling ATI drivers and then directX?
|
|
How would I reinstall DirextX and ATI?
EDIT: Nvm, I did it-still get the same problem. |
|
Maybe I'm way off because it does point to that dx dll but I still think it's just drivers.
It's just me but I would get Driver Sweeper and make sure I get rid of ATI display drivers and dX. After that, reboot to safe mode and run sweeper again just to be sure. Then install ATI drivers again and dX. All this because it's quite common that some file protection crap messes up the uninstall or sometimes the uninstallers aren't worth crap and it leaves old driver files, which wont get overwritten by new install, and you end up with messed up drivers. |

I realy doubt its driver fault .. with driver problem he would get rendering failed message at launching game

Any other suggestions? T_T
Would installing the US version as opposed to the EU help in anyway? |

Post your dxdiag. (start->run->"dxdiag"->save information)

That's my problem, ATi driver crashes the game. (Absolute latest GFX drivers.) I was gonna install the unofficial drivers I always forget the name of and were reminded about a few days ago and now forgot again. <_< Here we go: http://www.omegadrivers.net/ I think...If you're having problems with your ATi drivers, give those a try. Don't forget to uninstall old drivers before installing new ones as they aren't automatically overwritten and will conflict which could cause a ton of trouble. I think they might not work though but everything is worth a try, so I'll try 'em myself when I get home. The thing is, I think it's a very "core" part of the ATi drivers that bugs out, and I don't think that part has been recoded in any unofficial ATi driver packages.
Cool. <img src="http://www.metty.the-bart.org/other/daoc/sig.php?name=Gunodd&s=-1">

Danny, you use ATI Tray Tools as well? If there's heavy overclocking going on it could explain the crash so the card wouldn't fry.
Could try getting rid of those controllers and installing bare catalyst drivers to see if that works. |
|
Yep, I got the ATi Tray Tools, but there's no overclocking going on. I'd say my case isn't cooled very well though, it's noisy and gets warm, I guess that could explain it. <img src="http://www.metty.the-bart.org/other/daoc/sig.php?name=Gunodd&s=-1">
