For any newcomers/returning players,

I was having a hard time facing strange lagging/stuttering when I tried to fire up some good ol´DAoC.

Running a GeForce GTX 1070Ti there shouldn´t be any trouble running DAoC 2021 in full fancy mode, right?
Had to fiddle around for an evening trying various bullshit, in the end disabling the NVIDIA display container services did the job.

Stay healthy!

Thats a bug with every Nvidia-Driver above 457.51. Not sure what the display container service does, but i think it is there for a reason.

Another way to fix the issue is to enable mouse trails in windows settings (Windows Settings/Devices/Mouse/More Mouseoptions/Pointer Options). If you set the mouse trail slider to the left you cant see any trail and the issue is fixed. But you need to do the setting after every restart of the daoc client. Looks like starting daoc client resets mouse trail setting. Very strange, but works.

Did you start the daoc client before you activate mouse trails? Starting daoc client resets mouse trails, so you need to start the daoc client before you activate mouse trails.

I set the mouse trail whilst alt-tabbed out of my running DAoC. Didn´t work.
Tried so many ways to fix the painful stuttering, only disabling NVIDIA container fixed it.

Nvidia Driver 466.11 finally fixed the issue, no more stuttering in daoc :)
