I've got a technical question about the /appeal system.

Understandably, there can not be a GM on duty 24/7, right. Not only would that require an absurd amount of staff members, life happens along with the game.

So when someone uses /appeal to report shady behavior/characters/etc. and no GM is around to hear it, is the appeal logged to be looked at later?
I've got absolutely no idea whether DAoC logs these things and how they're treated if and when they are seen in the logs.

I've asked this question to a GM in private, but that hasn't produced any response (probably buried in 2,000 other PMs), so perhaps someone who knows the intricacies of DAoC's appeal system can shed some light here.

All appeals are logged and seen eventually.

That being said, 90% of appeals are not followed up on if no one can deal with the issue as it is happening.

"Player X is attacking my mobs" -> No point checking this 3 hours later

"I am stuck" -> Send the player a message, but if he is logged off on all toons you forget about it

"I am missing quest item X" -> Usually we wait to see if the issue resolves itself as sometimes these appeals are people unable to follow quest instructions

And you also have to remember that we don't respond to "player X is speedhacking" appeals ever, so if you make a report about another player we might be online and investigating but you will never know.

DISCLAIMER: Obviously my appeal examples apply only to situations when no GM is online and see them later.
Got any questions? Submit them to me and I will try to get them answered in our grab bag !

Makes plenty of sense to me.
Good to hear the appeals are actually heard, even when nobody is around. Granted, immediate relief is no guaranteed, but if there are 20 appeals from different folks in the logs about one person doing something shady, I would think that probably puts them on a list.

still it could be nice to get a response of any sort. if u write an /appeal u have no clue if it gets lost or GM are looking into it, if your problem just needs some time to be solved or if it actually is no problem but u are just stupid.

i kinda gave up on the /appeal system since i nerver got any response to my problems.

Using appeals or posting in forums sometimes you feel nobody is listening but suddenly one day you see that thing that was annoying you is fixed. Don't loose your faith and keep reporting things, no matter if here or /appeal
It's the thrill of the chase
and I'm coming after you.
