Defense Order
I have 2 different sources which contradict themselves: From source 1: http://camelot.allakhazam.com/story.html?story=673 Q: What is the resolution order of attacks and blocks? A: First, the game checks to see if the enemy would have even hit you. (Bladeturns, damage shields, etc all fall into this step.) Next, the game checks to see if you evaded the attack. If you dont evade, the game checks to see if you parried the attack. If you dont parry, you get a chance to block if youre equipped to do so. After all that, the game tells you how much damage you took. This is how it works the lead programmer just looked directly at the code to be absolutely certain. Short version the checks are hit/miss, evade, parry, block. From Source 2: http://www.dolserver.net/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=19276&p=133902&hilit=Grab+Bag+10%2F18%2F02#p133902 Short 'n' sweet: Q: I gotta say I totally disagree with the order of resolution you posted awhile back because of (insert extremely long log file here). A: One email is a lone crackpot, two emails is a possible problem – and I got more than two emails on the subject. So I went and poked someone with a stick, and got the following answer – the order is evade, parry, shield, guard, hit/miss, and lastly bladeturn (if hit = yes). Try THAT and see if it’s correct. Bonus Source:http://www.winterwolves.org/forum/index.php?/topic/5720-daoc-stats-of-the-game/ The correct Order of Resolution in combat is Evade, Parry, Block (Shield), Guard, Hit/Miss, and then Bladeturn. Grab Bag 2/27/03, Grab Bag 4/4/03 So which one is it on Uthgard? It is important to know if HIT/MISS goes before defense or after. Same for GUARD. Same for BLADETURN Why is it important? Because: Source:http://camelot.allakhazam.com/story.html?story=979 For 1H/shield users, do you block AND parry, or block OR parry? What I mean is, if I have a 10% chance to block and a 10% chance to parry, will I block/parry 10% of the time or 20%? A: It doesnt work exactly that way, because block and parry are at different points in the order of combat resolution. For the mercenary for example, when he uses Dirty Tricks does it mean that he will have less chance to evade/parry/block because there are more chances for the enemy to fumble/miss? Reminder to Self: Quality over Quantity, what is the Value here?

To put the question another way, has anybody ever evaded/blocked/parried while Bladeturn is up, since Bladeturn and Miss seem to be in the same bucket, according to the first example? I believe I have done so on my Hero, which would point toward the second of the two options. But it'd be nice if someone could confirm.

my warden often will parry or block arrows with a bt still up afterward. not meaning pbt.
edit been running in a group on speed 6 and block a mob, and my bt will still be up. I wondered why spamming blade turns on someone and they still would parry, block or evade. when the bt should had absorbed the hit.
