Hello,
since my older 24" LG Monitor (16:9) is defect I bought an BenQ 24" BL2405HT , and every time now I switch from DAOC to desktop with ALT + TAB or visa verse , I am getting a so called "black screen delay" of several seconds. With my old LG monitor I had set the PC monitor resolution 1920x1080 and DAOC resolution 1600x900, playing DAOC in Full Screen Mode and switching with ALT + TAB works instant without any delay. Changings the settings in the BenQ monitor setup menu doesn't solve the problem. I enabled in the Launcher Preferences the - Borderless Window - option and set in DAOC the Enable WIndow Mode, but this will just display ofc a smaller DAOC window if I set the DAOC resolution to 1600x900, which I don't want. Any idea how I could fix this, or what may could help ? Edit: I often read something about setting a game/ program to Windowed - Full Scree Mode, but I guess this is not available for the DAOC client ? |

Why don't you try running it in windows mode, and in your launcher settings (click the + button next to play) set it to use borderless. |

Set your desktop resolution to 1600 whilst you play, or set your game resolution to 1920. These really are your only options.
The number of seconds delay you see will be down to your monitor alone. Reconfiguring itself for a different resolution and not much that can be done for that. Borderless windowed mode with your game and desktop resolutions matching is a great experience. Able to tab out at will and do as you please with 0 delay is so useful. Like described in my post above , if you would set the game resolution to a other value comparing to the system resolution (Borderless Windowed Mode) you will get a smaller DAOC game window , so parts of the windows desktop are shown. @Lurker Like you wrote, it really seems some monitors can handle this very quick and others need several seconds, independently how old /new or expensive they are. |
