So i am new here, i made an account, followed the instructions, and hit play in the browser. The game launches, i hear that lovely music and when its done loading i see it go to the realm select screen and then instantly minimizes. i click it in the taskbar and it opens briefly, i hear a second of the music, and see the realm select screen again, but then minimizes again. i tried checking the borderless window and that doesnt do anything, i tried changing classic trees, and refresh, everything, but the game will not maximize so that i can select a realm. i can only exit by closing the game in the task manager.
![]() i have dual monitors both in 1920x1080, and a gtx 660. the game is set to use nvidia. has anyone any idea what could be wrong? |

I can't say I have ever heard of such a thing. It's pretty normal when you first run the game for your resolution to be set really low, which requires changing it from options (at character select) and then relaunching the game. But I'm not sure how that could cause this.
A couple ideas: 1) Disable your second monitor Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution and then try again. 2) Navigate to your DAoC folder in AppData, something like: (usually requires showing hidden folders) C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\uth2 In there is a file called "user" First test: open the file, find the resolution, and change it: screen_height=1080 screen_width=1920 Also maybe check what adapter it lists a few lines below that. Save the file and relaunch the game. If that doesn't work at all, delete everything in the uth2 folder and launch the game again. After that, I can only suggest just googling around for a solution, its incredibly unlikely it's anything specific to Uthgard. |

Thank you Cirdan for those suggestions so quickly.
I tried disabling the other monitor, and also checked the settings in that folder. the file didnt actually include the screen resolution in it which im guessing is because i havent been in the game long enough yet for it to write that data. it does say its using the 760 GTX though ( i forgot i put a friends old 760 in it last year when he upgraded so i was wrong but i dont think that made a difference ) I can only say that it has to be something with Uthgard because i still sub to DAoC and that works fine, its only this second installation that doesnt want to stay maximized. gonna have to keep on googling |

Very strange, I can't imagine why this would happen. The next suggestion is to delete this installation, copy your live one to a new location, and point our patcher at the new copy, effectively a doing a fresh reinstall. |
