So my machine has zero lag with wow or ever quest but daoc is very choppy. I have turned video settings down with no real success. I seem to remember having to change some settings in classic to accommodate broad band, still the case. Just asking general questions because I am not sure if it's video lag or internet lag. Just blows my mind that I run modern games fine. Please help, video card is a Radeon if it helps. Thanks in advance.

Does this only occur when you hold down / move your mouse?

You really need to determine if your experiencing high latency or low FPS first.

Now that you say that , it is notably worse when I move my mouse. But I also see my green donts turn to yellow triangle and red sometimes , and I have a very stable DSL connection. It is 100% worse when I move mouse though.

Are you in the US? I was experiencing huge latency lag this morning. I had to switch to using a VPN from the UK in order to play

I am also in the US .

I think US connections are experiencing bad lag atm, they need to reboot the server. For now im sticking to the VPN

A friend of mine i'm trying to get into Uthgard is having the same issue, when the game's window is focused it runs extremely low FPS and causes his audio to stutter. All I can find is that its related to some mouse refresh issue but we have been unable to solve it so far.

edit: fix was to update video card drivers apparently.

Here is what I do , this is not a fix but more of a temporary work around . I don't like it but it works.

1. Change DAOC to windowed mode.

2. ALT + TAB out to your desktop.

3. Go to control Panel, Mouse, Enable mouse trails.

4. ALT + TAB back into DAOC and majority of lag is gone, still a tiny amount when you move the mouse really fast.

It works but I would like a permananet fix , you have to do this everytime you log in , DC, or whatever.
