Hello internet pals, I has a question,

If I want to play Albion and my wife wants to play Hibernia on Uthgard, are we allowed to use both accounts from the same computer? Or would this be seen as having two main accounts, and get us both banned?

(Or if she used her laptop instead, would we still get in trouble for using two accounts from the same home? In which case, should we just flip a coin and share one account? :P)

Thanks internet pals!

Hello,

As i understand, it is not possible, technicaly and deontologicly ... but i'm not sure cause nobody on the staff still answer me : https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic ... 6&start=15

Technicaly, Uthgard is not an executable, it's more like a windows service that you can't duplicate, so you are locked whit one "master account" (open id) by machine.
But, you can have many characters account, and from different realms, on the same "master account".

Deontologicly, you can't "cross-realm" toguether, using 2 characters of 2 different realm at the same time. The Uthgard staff will find any different realm procces from the same provider IP, and you risk the ban. Same if you're wyfe live near an other access point (an other domain).

I think that you're topic talk about server rules: 2.1; 2.2; 2.7; 2.8.

You're welcome ;)

A) Since you launch Uthgard from the Website, to which you have to be logged in with an OpenID Account, switching accounts should allow you to both play using the same PC - but obviously not at the same time (how would that even work?^^). Maybe that is not so much an OpenID restriction as you could, theoretically, log one acount through firefox, the other through IE and launch the respective clients from each website. However, I am almost certain that playing two accounts simultaneously on the same machine will be considered botting (also, again...how?! ^^).

B) No problem playing on two computers from the same connection, in principle. Although it is a weird setup to be playing in two realms. That may well raise some flags, but I doubt it is specifically forbidden. At the very least you should always be actively playing as GMs may pick you up to do some funny exercise to prove that you are two players, not one person playing two accounts.

My advice: get a second internet connection for her laptop. Pretty sure you have some cheap LTE based mobile internet available for example, just for the laptop used by your wife, or yourself. Or tether the mobile cell phone with the laptop and use it's own internet for gaming.

There are many possibilities.

In the end it's all about honor and not using the information you may get to a realm's disadvantage, or advantage, as you may see it.

Please read section 2 of our rules.

Regarding playing 2 different realms in 1 household, we advice against it. It will mean more scruteny from the staff, and we will constantly be checking on you to make sure you are not arranging RvR etc. (and in the future we might not even allow this for that reason). The easiest for all parts, is if the household stays in 1 realm, with each family / household member having their own master account. (Since account sharing is a violation of our rules)

I wouldn't see that as scaring away the player base. Its about informing them of the rules so they don't have to ban them when they make a mistake.

Is there really no way to test races and classes of other realms without breaking the rules? Don't get me wrong. I respect the rules and won't do anything that endangers my Uthgard account. I am no cheater. I am just playing for fun a few hours a week and I am more active in PvE than in any RvR (BG or big RvR). And I am happy to play in Midgard and build custom groups in DF and farm seals until some roaming Hibs kick us out. :D I know (almost) every corner in my home realm and since the beta of DAOC in 2001 (or was it 2002?) I play in Midgard.

But from time to time I ask myself how it would be to level a bit in Alb or Hib, move through Camelot, test how it feels to play a Theurg or a Minstrel. I also want to visit the dungeons and towns there. Like a tourist who needs a bit fresh air. :D Just for fun, maybe to find a few new friends there to PvE a bit for a few days. And I don't even plan to stay there for too long or to level to 50 and go to RvR. I know that I belong to my home realm. But it seems we are now totally restricted to 1 single realm and cannot visit the other two realms anymore without beeing banned or deleting our chars and totally switch the realm. I don't wanna leave Midgard. Just playing other classes for a few hours (no RvR as I said).

I would appreciate a solution just for PvE but I know that some strange guys would probably abuse it to x-Realm or something like it. :?

Check under account management. There is a tab called realm transfer. During the beta the transfer takes 1 hour.

I will probably have the same issue (but we have our own master account each).. if this will become a problem, i'll chain my wife in the cellar and will play the same realm as my daughter lol :D

I clicked the realm transfer and waited the hour but it logged me to the char select screen on my original realm. I wanted to make something on mid for a little bit but it logged me into alb.
