I was trying to get my wife to come join me to play DAoC but when we play we just get disconnected over and over again.

Chicago has had issues today. Might be a connection issue going through Chicago? (should only be a problem if you are a US/Canadian resident though)

Try putting your computer further from each other, but in the same direction from the router.

had this with a friend teh other day, and it was because our Wifi dongles were adjacent. After moving them about 15 feet apart significantly improved how well we could stay online together.

Although you will probably still get disconnects once in awhile if you're using wifi. Uthgard is good about dropping you out of the game after 1second of internet loss.
