New to Uthgard

Good morning.
I have played DAoC for years, and am finding that the live game has outgrown me. In my opinion, although leveling is easier than ever, it just doesn't offer much to someone such as myself that has a limited time to play most days. So, I am hoping to try Uthgard. Now for my question: I have followed the instructions listed, download the Uthgard launcher, and created an account. When I go to download a copy of the game client, it give me this message: Dark Age of Camelot is already installed. Would you like to uninstall?" I am not really sure if it's asking me if I want to uninstall the whole game, or the exe program I have just downloaded. Any thoughts on this? Am I being too vague with my question? |

You have two options: 1) It sounds like you have a current live game, you can just target that with the Uthgard launcher. If you do you might have trouble going back to live on that install. 2) Or you could move that install into another folder and download a second copy into the normal location and pick either of those for Uthgard. Yes, I do have a current live game. It is completely updated as I signed on for a bit last night.
How do I target the game with the Uthgard launcher? Please forgive my ignorance, this is fairly new to me. I have downloaded and played several online games, but I am certainly not what one would call computer savvy. On the second option, I guess that would be a matter of knowing what folder the game is currently in, and perhaps creating a new folder to place it in. Would that allow me to download another game client and not get the message I mentioned above? |

You can copy your original DAoC client to a completely new folder by hand, and use that folder for Uthgard. The Launcher will ask you what folder you want to use; just point it at the correct one.
Be nice. :)
