keyboard and other options should all save when you zone or log out.

it sounds like you could be having RAM issues.
try deleting the user.dat and resetting all of your keys.

This is not always the case with zoning, but it is true with a proper log out using /quit.
If your game crashes, or you kill it, config files are normally not saved.

If it is DAoC Portal 2.8 I am not sure how it works now. There are some crazy changes in it that cause a lot of people different problems.

However try open DAoC Portal, set the path, then exit the program.
Wait a minute or two, then reopen it again, and check if the path is correctly set.
If it isn't then shout out for metty.:D

For the keyboard config files it should be common procedure to backup all the *.ini files in the folder Pyth mentioned. The easiest here is probably to make a batch-script that does the backup everytime you use it to launch DAoC Portal.

Hi there, Atum.

I was researching your issue, and ran across this post, surprisingly on Uthgard's forums - where as I figured it would be in the DAoC Wiki.
Bukowski wrote:Ah, figured it out.

They keys that get reset are keys that are left without a bind. Just take all your keys that are still UNSET and bind them to some random keys (I used the F keys, which I don,t use in game). It worked.

The bug thus seems to be that if a key with a default bind is left unset, it will automatically rebind itself to the default settings, conflicting your qbinds.

I hope this resolves your issue!

hey, not really ;-(

for example, "move forward" is set with "w" and "left mouse click" and "pan camera" is setted with "left mouse"

"move forward" alsways resets automaticly to "left mouse click"(the 2nd option after "w")

and i also did not figured out yet why the install-path @ daoc portal is also always resetted back after pc reboot/start(@file->settings). im using daoc portal v2.8c

Check if you have write-access to all the files used for DAoC and DAoC Portal.

This. There sounds like there is a bunch of permissions issues going on for you, since DAoC Portal really has nothing to do with DAoC as far as settings are concerned. If these were both installed correctly, they should have permissions granted by default. I suppose you could try running Portal as admin, and finding the launcher for DAoC and make it always run with admin rights... Shouldn't need to do that though.
