Since i installed Windows 8 yesterday i discovored DAoC Portal and DAoC have a lot of problem. I'll start with the basics

1) You will need .net framework 3.5 activated.
Follow the little guide on that link to activate it if windows 8 didnt asked you to activate it.

2) I discovered when you close DAoC and trying to starting it back, it doesnt wanna start. Here's the trick

C:\Program Files (x86)\DAoC Portal
Connect.exe > Properties > Compatibility > put it to Windows 7 and turn ON Admin mode
DAoC Portal.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Put it Windows 7 and turn ON Admin mode

3) This one is really cool since Uthgard are saying that you can run 1.113 with no problem.
There is a lot of problem with 1.113 on Uthgard but a lot more concerning windows 8 stabitlity so
you'll need to downgrade to 1.109 to fix a lot of trouble.

What it fix:
-title bug
-Long loading screen
-Lot of crashing when trying to load up a toon
-Forced to use windowed mode because you cannot Alt-Tab with Fullscreen because the screen if frozen.

It could be very disapointing for a lot of player but if you wanna use the new stuff of Microsoft with an old game thats the price.

So after 4 hours of debugging the game is now running perfectly and i can stream again
