So a few weeks ago my pc had a few hardware failings so I have now rebuilt it with upgraded parts. I have done a fresh format on this machine that has previously ran daoc, the portal and all other mods associated with tajendi for years!

im using windows 7 ultimate and have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for Windows 7 x64-based Systems (KB982670) installed.

Installation date: ‎02/‎11/‎2011 11:16

Installation status: Successful

Update type: Recommended

The Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile provides a subset of features from the .NET Framework 4. The Client Profile is designed to run client applications and to enable the fastest possible deployment for Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Windows Forms technology.

So like i said, i have recently reformatted my pc and downloaded the daoc client online. I have downloaded and installed the daoc portal but when i open it on either normal mode or admin i get this pop up

"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediatly.

Could not load type 'MPKLib.MPAK' from assembly 'MPKLib.
Version-1.02410.16691. Culture=neutral, PublicKey Token=null."

The more info tab contains this spam, if it's usefull.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Interestingly, if i click either quit or continue the portal opens up but the progmramme does not populate with shards/servers.

any suggestions are extremely welcome

But new problem.

SInce I downloaded the full game client it came patched with 1.110 so when i log in, the cliemt times out at 95% or so and askes me to press ESC to exit.

Is there anyway around this? i was skimming thru other posts and sombody was hosting a roll back, it doesnt seem to be active, how can i do this?

OK guys I found out some information, I hope it benefits others. Forget roll backs! I could not connect with a fresh install of daoc 1.110 client, so I went into the directory and replacced the game.dll file with a older version, I had my brother send me his game.dll that was 1.109. I didn't need to patch or anything. I simply replaced my file with his and it works. I connect with 1.109.

I hope it helped others! I cant host the file but I can send it to somebody if they have a long term host space available
