what happens when you doubleclick the .dmm files?
|
|
with windows 7 you have to use the 2nd method (copy manually to your daocportal\mods folder...if it doesnt exist, create it) and then patch by starting daoc portal -> Client -> Mod Manager, check all extensions and click patch. |
|
Running Win7. Can get into game no problem. Can't patch though.
Tried copying manually to portal mods folder, didn't work. Tried saving to mods folder in DAoC directory, didn't work. Tried modifying permissions, didn't work. Tried setting ModManager to run as admin, told me "ModMgr.exe <path_to_game.dll>". Tried opening .dmm's as admin, no such option. Am at wits end. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers! [edit: Running DAoCPortal as admin already and can get in game no problem so path is correct. Patches just don't show up in the ModManager when I start it...] |
|
Update: got the patches to apply.
For some reason, the patches could not be double clicked (access denied), drag and dropped into the modmanager (couldn't find them), or found by the modmanager no matter (for some reason they are incompatible) where they were located. In the end, I downloaded to my desktop, opened the command line interface (type CMD in the 'Searc programs and files' field in the start menu, then press CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER to open the CLI as an administrator) and executed them from there. They then appear in the modmanager where you can apply them using the usualy process of patching. Hope this helps others! Cheers! |

Because DAoCPortal wouldn't be launched with administrative permissions. For installing these files, you need them. |
|
Actually, I have set it up to launch DAoCPortal as administrator and that had no effect on the patches. For some reason, the administrator's privileges are simply not passed on to the modmanager.
Cheers! |

Sorry to post in an old thread, but I am experiencing this exact same problem. I was following the steps pmxinos too up until the CLI. Call me inept. Call me stupid. But with that, could you explain what to type at that point for the computer illiterate?
I really want to play again. |
|
Sorry for the 4 year bump, but having same problem as the OP and Mingles. Got the CLI open but not sure what to type... Have tried everything the OP originally explained in his first post, with similar, negative results :'( |

I never had to doubleclick dmm Files.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

fun the dol launcher as administrator.
edited to add: if is no mods directory under daoc portal need to create it and put the .dmm files for i like tajendi, classic and crafting. then run your launcher and hit mod manager and check all mods and patch.
