hey guys,
just wanted to post what i found out, maybe it can help some1 out or maybe other ppl can post similar solutions.

anw, i never had lag problems untill 1 day i started having low fps and random Ping spikes ... teribble when playing a pac in rvr :p)
after calling my isp and researching around that end, i concluded it had nothing to do with my line...

here's 2 things i did and right now im back to normal, super fps and lag free:

1st - move/copy the daoc dir to a 21century HD
i transferred my daoc dir out of a full-old-slow hard drive that it was on and copied it on a faster-emptier one ( a 10k rpm one) - that fixed the low fps issue
(remember after u copy the daoc dir to set a new client in daoc portal under -file -settings and then change the preferred client from the Client option in daoc portal)

2nd - if using multiple graphics cards make sure daoc is only rendered by one of them - if windowed
2nd thing i did to kill the ping lag spikes was to move my daoc window a little to the left ...(explanation inc)
i use a 4 monitor/2 vga setup and play on windowed client which has the same resolution as my main screen ( so i can switch to other stuff unbothered. )
anw, i noticed that the daoc client by default, occupied a tiny bit of one of my secondary screens (rendered by my secondary vga) as the client is slightly bigger than my main screen.
anyway, moving the extra part of the client (about 3-4mm's) to the other screen that was rendered by the same graphics card as my main screen fixed the lag spikes.
if the client is rendered by 2 different vga cards, the lags come back...

just a little piece of what i found out, hope it helps some1

feel free to add any "random" lag causes u find out
xD

So your ping-issues got solved by adjusting HDD and GFX? :)

well yeah...
i tried to fight with my isp over phone, played a couple of days with my router settings etc...
but it seems it was pc lag that for some reason was interpreted as ping
