Hey,

I need some help installing the DAOC client.

I had to slick my brother's comp and am trying to get him back to Uthgard.

When I try to install the client everything works until after I hit the accept term and go to the next screen.

The screen comes up and shows me the default directory but the install button is grayed out and this message comes up;


The current permissions are insufficient to write to the selected install folder.


I have never seen this problem before am at a loss. Hopefully one of you gurus can help me out.

Silly question are you installing on Admin log on ?

Are there several user accounts on the OS ?

Ty right clicking icon and run as administrator.

This is my 1st guess more info could help like what OS ect.

Thanks for the reply Ithiggi. Sorry for the shoddy description, it was way past my bed time.

This is apparently a known issue. To fix it you have to simply create the target directory and then it loads right in. My son did a search on a couple of forums and found the answer/ fix in about 5 minutes.

I have loaded DOAC on various computers since 2003 and have never had to do this. It must have something to do with Mythic's new .exe.

Right now my bro's comp is patching away, he'll be happy.
