NB Read this only if you are connecting wireless to play DAoC.

Hiho, I have been working on my lag problems (http://uthgard-server.net/modules.php?n ... ic&t=17016) for 3 days and now I've solved it, and maximized my connection speed aswell.

It was a problem of interference between my channel and the channel used by my neightbours.

"It is worth experimenting with different wireless channels, especially if you are detecting a number of other routers in range of yours.

When a router transmits it is 'sharing' airspace with other routers on the same frequency, and so the less channel competition you have, the better your signal."

So i downloaded inSSIDer, a tool which let you scan the wireless signal around you, and found out that I was sharing the same channel with other 2 neightbours.

inSSIDer download:
http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/download

Then I changed my wireless channel from my modem setup page to another one, as suggested here:

http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3 ... add6914f1c

Result: no more lags, 11MB download speed.

Hope it helps, just ask if something is not clear.

Nothing that I did not know ^^

Well my Wlan router picks the best Channel on his own - that can change everyday since I'm living in the center of town and I have a lot of other Wlans round^^

most likely a routing issue glacius .. if you get directed through telia or herzner you will experience a lot of lag spikes while connected to Uthgard..

personally I am getting directed through telia and hating it..
