Cannot see any tradeskill icons / Cannot access tradeskills

No tradeskills appear for any of my charaters. 'P' give me skills, but the tradeskills window is empty.
I've patched uth-classic, craftfix and classic icons. All of these seemed to patch correctly without error. I've patched and relogged several times now. I'm not finding another path to take via the forums. Can someone help?

have you visited any of the crafting trainers yet? you have to choose a profession to be able to craft at all. And you can only maximize a single craft skill per char on Uthgard
