Looking for advice on how to spec as a nightshade. It's been years and I've never played melee stealth before. Figured I'd give this a go for Uthgard as it will be a lot different than I've ever played DAoC. I've been searching around the forums and net for awhile now and there's really not much info out there that I can find(surprising for such an old game). So any advice would be much appreciated.

My opinion:
Lurikeen (unless you like Elves)
10 STR, 15 DEX (unless you just want balanced stats 10 STR, 10 DEX, 10 QUI)
Use Pierce weapons (not Blades)

A good discussion was here.

One last thing: don't put any points in to Stealth until you learn the pros and cons of AUTO-TRAINING. Seriously, just don't. If you're the kind of person that wants to maximize every point, then you're going to be really mad to find out you missed out on 77 points due to an obscure game mechanic. According to Nixian's Charbuilder, Nightshades have 3253 available points by level 50. Another 77 points won't matter much at all. However, if you're the type to regret this kind of decision, then don't touch Stealth until you learn about AUTO-TRAINING.

If you decide to go Ranger, then don't touch Bow as that's the skill that gets AUTO-TRAINED for Ranger.

Only Nightshades and Rangers have the AUTO-TRAINING feature on Hibernia.

Thanks for the intel dude! I went with 10/10/10 and I had some what of a clue about auto train but wasn't exactly sure so that clears some stuff up. However I'm completely clueless on actual specs for nightshades. I've just never really played stealthers and its not as straight forward as a tank would be there's just so many options to put points into and respecs are gonna be rare so I don't wanna screw things up.

Starting stats 10 Str/dex/con regardless of your race.

For PvE, try keeping envenom on level until at least 35. HAving the best dot available helps big time. Alway keep your "old" mainhand weapon in the 2Hand slot for an additional Dot poisoning (if your dots is resisted or one dot is not enough to kill the mob). Dot damage helps a lot.
