Planning on rolling a Lurikeen NS at launch and was wondering what starting stars are suggested. I went 10 con /10 dex / 10 quick on beta, but read a couple of guides that suggest 10 strength. I plan on going pierce (not blades). With pierce damage being 50/50 strength/dex based, and dex providing additional defensive bonuses that strength doesn't, what's the advantage to putting points into strength over dex?

Or maybe I'm looking at this wrong and should be putting 10 points in strength instead of the con / quick?

Thanks in advance for any advice any experienced shades may have.

At level 50 you will have 103 Qui.

+75 from temp and +75 from charge will give you 253 qui.

As qui is hard capped at 250 there is no need to put any starting points in qui

Therefore in my opinion go 10 str/con/dex.

I was reading about weapon damage and for str/dex based weapons, it either divides str/2 or in the cases where str is less than 50, subtracts 25 from your character's str stat (so 40-25=15 at lvl 1) then Dex is halved similarly (which a Luri will have plenty of and those two numbers are added together. ofc it can't be as simple as adding strength and dex stats together, THEN dividing by 2.

iirc strength only rises every 3 dings so the <50 in str will be with you for a few levels if you don't get to 50 str at creation

Sorry for questioning you, but I've been away from DAOC for 10 years. Is there is a hard cap of 250 for every attribute? Has this been confirmed?
