You will hit for a good bit less than your Firb and Celt counterparts. From a PvE defense perspective you will do very well but in RvR your damage output will simply not match the Firb and Celt using CS.

The only real rvr advantage would be your size, but I would rather the Mid melee train target me as a Firb Hero by accident rather than my Bard. You don't typically want to hide as a Hero.

Yeah I know I won't hit as often, but won't I swing more often? Also I would more than likely go shield/pierce to 50 and maybe even take parry to 39 and leave spear at 6 for the back snare. Just be really defensive and stack those bleeds from pierce.

I know it's not optimal.. but it can work, right?

130% dmg is what you gain just by using 2h or spear compared to anny 1h. Dont leave that behind

I didn't mean to say it was an issue of hitting targets as often, the issue is you will always do less damage than your Celt, and especially Firbolg, counterparts. What I mean is they will hit harder every time they swing than you will, with the same spec. If you love the look, you can make it work. You just have to accept you are not picking the optimal race for your class.

From a defensive standpoint aren't luris pretty good? With high Dex/quick they evade block and parry a lot right?

What spec would y'all go with for a luri hero?

I would not go for a luri hero. Period.

You would pretty much still take the Standard spear or LW spec

Spear damage is pure STR in Hibernia, same as LW, so no bonus for choosing that at Luri. I'm pretty sure if they take MOB and some other passive RAs you'll be similar defensively to the larger races. Only real benefit is you'll be smaller?

I get that it's not ideal. And for damage it's just flat out worse than firby or celt. But with the extra quick/Dex I get a bonus to blocking, attack faster, and damage with pierce weapons can't be THAT bad.

Plus I mean, cmon, mini stag is sweet

It's roughly 1% block chance per 20 Dex, doesn't really make any difference.
Roughly because it doesn't take opponent's weaponskill / level into consideration.

Honestly go wild, have fun, play what you like! But be aware that the benefit of Luri for defence isn't has high as you might think, especially end game, so pick the race because you like it, not because it serves a specific role.

Have you read any of the Other threads on this Subforum? They pretty much all are concerned with this topic

Can anyone confirm if they make better peelers due to faster slams and higher guard block rates?

If you are concerned strictly with peeling then luri 'should' be marginally better. Disregarding damage as a peeler, the luri will snare faster, slam faster, block, parry, and dodge more attacks in the snare battle against enemy peeler.

Then again... if you are strictly concerned with peeling and skill cap of shield/weapon swapping isnt an issue, a celt blademaster can fill this role even better than a luri hero in all aspects... wish i was a blademaster yo
