Almost sure I am going to roll a hero today.

Thinking about

50 CS
42 Shield
34 Blade
20 Parry

Want to be able to tank in groups while leveling and be able to do 8 mans in RvR.

Is 50 CS viable for 8v8? It is ok if it isn't optimal, I hope I could make up for a shortcoming with situational awareness etc. Just want to be sure it wouldn't be totally gimp.

Thanks!

I like it! :)

Some people will say if you're going to put 50 in CS then you should do 50 LW instead. Do what you want. Be a trend setter!

50 lw 50 shield 10 blades 26 parry.. one of the best group specs for hero.. think left over points 7 into spear for backsnare..

LW gives you two different damage types.. 10 blades side snare.. 7 spear back snare.. 50 shield for 10 sec block stun and better blocks.. my favorite spec.

Lulz. Ever played 8v8 in this Patch? 1 peeler in grp. Period.

Light Eld will Dissease and ns. Therefore no speed. Zerk stay out of combat for 10s. Skald speed kicks in. Zerk runs through oh speed 6. Dead eld if you have no peels or an extraordinary good bard.

I'm still not sure about my final spec. I'm RvR focused but can't forget about PvE since I'll need to lvl 40 -> 50 and farm for gold to be templated.

50 LW 42 shield 38 CS 10 Blades 4 parry
or
50 LW 50 Shield 28 blades 6 CS 3 parry

I'd love to be able to deal the 3 dmg type in RvR with 50 LW and 35+ in CS.
At least 42 shield is a must have.
But that'll leave blade at around 10. I'm not sure I would be able to tank mobs in PvE groups with such a low weaponskill.

So should I let CS at 6 and forget about thrust damage.
Or with only 10 in blade, I can tank Prince and other stuff ?

I clearly prefer the first spec for RvR purpose.

Thanks for your input guys.

with 10 blades you can do pve.. you just gotta learn to shield switch correctly. Hit only with your 2hander and switch to shield quickly to block the shot. Do it over and over and you wont need to use blades at all besides to side snare with. The 38 into cs is a waste imo

Ty for your feedback.
It's a bit tricky to tank many mobs with this method, but doable thanks.

Why 38 CS would be a waste ? Do you mean that I should aim for a RR4+ spec (with 36 CS max) and put points in parry ?

i just dont see you doing as much damage as you would with a 50 lw if you switch between slash/crush correctly

Having 15% bonus on mail while you switch to CS seems really good. Especially for small man :)

With only 6 CS for back snare, I won't deal dmg. With 38, I'll ;)

I use this build : - 50 celtic spear
- 42 shield (for slam 9sec anytime)
- 39 parry ( give good block-rate vs melee )
- 6 blade ( for taunt in one hand's mode when I play pve in group , pvp : better touch chance beacause I burn BT enemys with blade before slam and swich in spear )

Don't waste your points in parry. It won't do anything for you.

38 spear is winner winner chicken dinner. Your behind style will be delicious.

10 blades is enough to tank pve.
