I recently respecialised to 50 Ench/20 Mana/4 Light from 50 Mana/20 Ench/4 Light.
I wondered if it would be a huge mistake, but it's proved to be the best move I have ever made and I don't know why I left it so long to make the change. It is by far the most power-efficient spec. I've ever known so far. Before I was consuming power pots at an uncomfortable rate and relying on Mystical Crystal Lore to keep power regen. downtime to minimum; but now I don't really need pots at all, except for a single power regen. pot which lasts for a long time. With the Splendorous Armour pet 10% heal proc (level 49), the Splendorous Arms (44) extra 10 melée damage add and the +64 str/con, +66 dex/qui buffs, my pet can solo without any, or very little healing intervention on my part. The 10% heal proc is superb and it's great to see it going off, especially when taking on half a dozen mobs at once. I just sit down and leave my underhill pet to get on with it. The Mana spec damage shield isn't as powerful as it was when I was trained to 50 Mana, but it's still pretty decent when combined with the baseline damage shield, and there is also a reasonably good PBAoE. It does take a little longer to take down a whole lot of mobs at once, but I'm not having to worry about healing my pet, or about running out of power. I can't count the number of times when I've not noticed that my pet's health is very low and either I just manage to heal it in time, or the pet dies and I suddenly have a load of mobs coming after me! Now, that never happens, because my power never drops below 80%. The spec is good for PvE. It's going to be awesome for RvR, especially when your group mates can benefit from the +10 to melée damage. Pet casters get the level 50 Insidious Will, which eats away at an enemy's health bar at an astonishing rate. This will be great in keep taking/defending, where the caster pet can demoralise enemy players whilst the player is safely inside the keep. With the +66 Dex/Qui buff also, caster pets will be casting very fast. So, my new spec is awesome and I'm not looking back. It's a slightly different way of playing, but very exciting. I recommend this spec. After all, why wouldn't an Enchanter not want to train to level 50 in Enchantments? Enchanters are called Enchanters for a reason and have a skill line named after them. They're not any other Magician class. |
