Anyway to do that with macro or shortcut? can't seem to figure it out..

Unfortunately, dragging and dropping is the only way to switch from dual-wield to shield. It's clunky as anything, but you get used to it after a while.

Can you not drop you shield on the quickbar and do it that way? how i did it on genesis, not sure if it's the same here.

Unfortunately no, it says "you have to equip your shield first"

Genesis was easy mode, Uthgard is hardmode.
