Hey, just wondering if yellow Str/Con Dex/Quick caps if you got 51 aug. or do you need red ones?

Master of the Arcane(MOA) might cap it with yellow buffs. Not sure how much though.

in beta i tried some speccs and this is what i actually wrote down:

kobold with +15 dex, + 10 pie

38 aug +14 from items

STR: 65 base +75 from items +71 specc buff +55 base buff = 266

CON: 73 base +75 from items +71 specc buff +58 base buff = 277

DEX: 85 base +75 from items +72 specc buff +60 base buff = 292

i later tested with the same template but with a little higher aug specc (43 +14) and same yellow specc buffs. all buff values remained the same.

yea from what i remember from way back i think 51 i cap for +aug so you just need to hit that 51 aug i totalt. just wasnt sure about Str/con and dex/quick but if can cap with yellow i can safe some conc. was planing on going 46 aug but if i cap with 42+9 i might aswell just do that.

The reason people go 46 is because you will hit your 20 buff max before you run out of conc.

Base Buffs have a cap of lvl*1.25 meaning cap sits at 62 for a lvl 50 Character.
Spec Buffs have a cap of lvl*1.25*1.5 meaning cap sits at 93 for a lvl 50 Character.

How much does a spell buff?

Well it buffs 25% more than the delve value with enough points in the spec line, meaning spec buffs always give that extra 25%.

For demonstration purposes I use the values given in the post above:
38 aug +14 from items

STR: 65 base +75 from items +71 specc buff +55 base buff = 266

CON: 73 base +75 from items +71 specc buff +58 base buff = 277

DEX: 85 base +75 from items +72 specc buff +60 base buff = 292

Code: Select all
Base dex delve: 48
Base dex level: 48
48*1.25 = 60 equal to the value shown above

Base con delve: 47
Base con level: 47
47*1.25 = 58.75 ->as it is an integer value it cuts off to 58 equal to the value shown above

Base str delve: 44
Base str level: 43
44*1.25 = 55 equal to the value shown above

Spec str/con delve: 57
57*1.25 = 71.25 -> as it is an integer value it cuts off to 71 equal to the value shown above

Spec dex/qui delve: 58
58*1.25 = 72.5 -> as it is an integer value it cuts off to 72 equal to the value shown above

As long as your skill value equals the level of the spell you'll get the base 1.25 multiplier and there is no way to increase the buff value any further besides Mastery of the Arcane.

So what base value do we cap buffs at considering several levels of MotA?
Code: Select all
Bases:
cap = lvl*1.25
buff = delve*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL)

cap=buff
lvl*1.25 = delve*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL)
lvl = delve*(1+0.03*MotALvL)

lvl /(1+0.03*MotALvL) = delve

Now plug in numbers:
MotA I:
50 /(1+0.03*1) = 50 /1.03 = 48.54

MotA II:
50 /(1+0.03*2) = 50 /1.06 = 47.17

MotA III:
50 /(1+0.03*3) = 50 /1.09 = 45.87

MotA IV:
50 /(1+0.03*4) = 50 /1.12 = 44.64

MotA V:
50 /(1+0.03*5) = 50 /1.15 = 43.48

Specs: simpli calculate the values above times 1.5 for a rough quick overview:
MotA I:
48.54 *1.5 = 72.81

MotA II:
47.17*1.5 = 70.75500

MotA III:
45.87*1.5 = 68.80500

MotA IV:
44.64*1.5 = 66.96

MotA V:
43.48*1.5 = 65.22

So according to the numbers above MotA V would be needed to cap all base buffs, as str is the smallest value with 44 and only MotA V can cap a buff of that value.

Looking at the table for spec-buffs one can easily see that there is no way for yellow buffs to reach the cap as the lowest delve value to reach the cap is 66 while the highest yellow spec buff delve is dex/qui with 58.

The red str/con has a delve of 69, therefore it can cap with MotA III.

To demonstrate:
Code: Select all
buff = delve*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL)
buff = 69*1.25*(1+0.03*3) = (integer)86.25 *1.09 = 86 * 1.09 = (integer)93.74=93
while with MotA II:
buff = 69*1.25*(1+0.03*2) = (integer)86.25 *1.06 = 86 * 1.06 = (integer)91.16=91

To answer the questions of yellow str/con vs red str/con:
Code: Select all
difference = delveR*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL) - delveY*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL)
difference = (delveR - delveY)*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL)
difference = (69-57)*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL)
difference = 12*1.25*(1+0.03*MotALvL)
difference = 15*(1+0.03*MotALvL)

MotA III (in both cases - red and yellow)
difference = 15*(1+0.03*3) = 16

So the delve difference between red and yellow str/con is 12 str, the effective difference is 15 str and that difference is further increased by MotA. Considering MotA III to cap the red one that would turn out to be a difference of 16.

I hope this helps a bit.
