is there any 8man setup in which a 46 cave is not laughed at?

no

I would personally like to go for 36cave/38aug. But not having red endu might be a big no go.
Well, we´ll see if 38 aug is enough 8)

Sorry, when I said 8man, I was more referring to the whole 8man roaming meta, not just "Full groups doing RvR".
But I'll take Kaysha's answer for it, since it kind of confirms what I thought..
