1. What are some of the popular OF hunter specs for RvR?
2. How do you think Hunters will perform solo in RvR at this patch level?
3. Sword vs spear for a Norseman?

This is imho but:

I would be very wary of making a hunter at this patch level for the following reasons:

1) Pet is worthless at this patch level
2) Slash weak armour
3) Only Evade 2
4) Jury is out on bow damage atm I believe
5) 'See Hidden' and fighting assassins generally is going to be a nightmare

Spear instead of sword I would think as its str/dex based so less affected by str/con debuff and you should be able to get 2 different damage types (Slash & Thrust).

Do your research, read all the hunter related posts and above all roll a freebie hunter whilst we are still in beta and try it out, see what you think.

I reckon (and I am not alone in this) that archers are going to be heavy going in 1.65.......

Whatever you decide, good luck

For specs I did a lot of bow testing here during the betas. The damage between say 35 and 50 bow is minor to the point where I found myself using a 27 bow spec when free lvl 50 dropped and not being too disappointed with the dmg. I do recommend 35 bow though for rapid fire.

A solo hunter will struggle. But you have the tools to beat assassins it's just not going to be easy mode for you. For a start you will have to group to get some RR under your belt. With purge and Ignore pain you stand a chance when they are up.

Spear for the back stun is big if you can land it. This means taking 39 spear.

The pet is nothing more than a dmg add really, but is really nice when 1v1 vs a caster.

Could try a spec like:

32beast
35stealth
39spear
45bow

when 35 bow is enough, is it better to specc 40 or 42 in bc? for better d/q and shield buff?!

I often considered higher BC, but you'll likely use a d/q charge item so the buff is worthless. That's why I suggested a higher bow spec above.

Not for those buffs, but some (ahem) like 34 BC for the nicer speed shout. 25% longer duration than the previous one and also moves you faster.
