I want to level a healer and be good for groups leveling to 50, is there a specific spec I need? Id like to POM the grps, but be able to heal as well. Is there like a level template for a PAC healer for pve?

Heal classes don't need a lot of mending to still heal fine. Early on I'd aim for 1/3 to 1/2 your level. Aug can still be useful, but if you don't want to trispec at all, maximize your PAC to get your power Regens faster and better aoe mez.

Healers are one of The hardest classes to spec since every line is super important and you can't get everything. I made a priority list of important abilities and ranked them by which ones I wanted first. Then I know how many points to put in each line at a given level.

Some pac healers will get 5 in Aug for the move speed buff.

Can always respect OUT of it at 20 and/or 40.

It really helps more than I thought as a pac healer.

The POM (pac spec line mana regeneration buff) makes your downtime almost nil

Theres a really good healer guide posted in the Tutorials section. It lists all the most common specs as well as pros and cons of each. I will try and find the link.

This is exactly what I did up until level 20. Move speed + attack speed buff was really nice to have.

I would:

lvl 20 --> 7mend / 18 aug / 4 pac

lvl 30 --> 12mend / 18 aug / 20 pac

lvl 40 --> 21mend / 18 aug / 28 pac

lvl 50 --> 33mend / 18 aug / 38 pac

So far I'm 38 on my healer and have had success with my spec.

i went 100% pac until lvl 15 for the green pom.
then i went 24 mending for a good lvl 18 spec heal, 50% ress that reduces ress sick, 55% insta heal, 50% insta group heal.
(the insta heals saved the groups a lot of times and we could keep on going).

once i hit that 24 mending i went back to skilling pac.
at level 35 i got the blue POM. at level 42 i'll have the yellow pom.

this was just my experience, i was happy with it, so thought i would share it with you.

Really cant remember, but is a Aug Healer able to level solo sometimes? There were older days where that could happen.

as aug is really hard to play Solo with grey stuff. i play aug in groups and they are very happy about my haste+celerity.
at the moment lvl. 30 with 26aug for blue celerity and 14 heal.
i do not know if i goes little bit heal now or i will spec 32 aug for 15%haste and yellow Cele and then heal. we will see :D

I am looking at being 35/20/35 at 50.
This give me the 2nd insta group heal, the next to last power regen, and enough aug to solo if I need to.

I will be duoing with an aug healer or shaman most of the time anyways.

Leveled a 42 healer pac/mend, and have also leveled 43 healer that went tri-spec to 40 then respeced to pac.

I found that the 2nd healer was much much easier to find groups with, because I was versatile enough to fill either the aug or pac healer spot in groups (or do both and have 2 shams help with heals, roots, buffs, etc.) In terms of spec while leveling, to an earlier poster's point, spending in mend isn't all that necessary until you begin encountering mobs that begin to disease/poison (i think by mend 7 you'll have both cures.)

Begin by focusing on 1 of 2 paths - either obtaining 15 pac for POM, or 18 aug for the first celerity. I'd recommend 15 pac to get the first POM by 15 ASAP, and then start bumping points into aug to get haste 1 for your groups before 20.

At 20 I kept my pac at 15, respec'ed my aug to bump the mend up to 7 to have the cures (because you'll begin encountering poison/disease mobs after 20), and put the remaining in aug. After 20, I kept dumping into aug until 18 and getting green celerity, so you eventually have 15pac/18aug/7mend (green POM, green celerity, cure poison/disease). From here, I went back and forth between obtaining the next POM (25 pac) and then the next celerity (28 aug) so that by the time you're in your 30's you'll eventually have blue POM and blue celerity (and still the 7 mend for cure poison/disease.)

At 40 you then make your decisions based on your intended end-game spec. Do you continue going tri-spec? Focus more on aug? On pac? You'll find other threads here that get into end-game spec, there are varying opinions. I personally have decided to go 38 pac (gold POM plus 4 insta CCs), 30 mend (spreadheal), and rest into aug (i THINK i may get 1 resist?) Others suggest putting even more into pac, or reducing pac to 35 (lose an upgraded root and 2 ae insta CC spells) and put those points into aug so that you can get upgraded celerity and all 3 resist buffs. I'll let you do further research there, but hope you found the info above somewhat helpful at least!

Cheers,

Just keep in mind the Realm Abilities are incorrect, as they are New Frontiers.

I went 4 Pac and pretty much pumped Aug till lvl 40. I think I had something like 15 mend when I hit 40.

With full Aug I was able to solo pretty well (yellow mobs were no problem) and it felt like there were way more Pac healers than Aug healers so it was easier getting groups. Since this was my first character the speed + ability to solo helped with quests, OTDs and other things that I feel would be less necessary to do once you have a bank roll. If I created a new healer again I would grab Cel 1 and go full Pac the rest of the way (with Mend sprinkled in there).

I find that if a group desperately needs an Aug healer and can't find one they will take a Cel 1 Pac healer (from a PvE perspective) most of the time.

Personally, as a healer I did not like to solo and liked to group more. Better xp.

I found that the critical thing that is needed is POM.

So for leveling 1-20, I would go all aug then at 20, respect to full pac until lvl 35 for the yellow pom.

Then at 40 you can respec pac line and decide from scratch what overall spec you want to go with.
