Reaver has always been by favorite class. I want to roll one but lack of Determination and low population for rvr seems like it’s going to be difficult to be accepted in a group.

So I’m curious how you current active 50 Reavers fair nowadays in rvr. Do you have to solo a lot? Are you turned down constantly in favor for other classes for 8 mans?

Hey Roamer05,

first of, I do not have any Reaver RVR experience. But - since no one else answered so far - here I go:

Based on my experience (Theurgist currently Airspec) RVR will probably look like so:

1. Reaver Solo will be tough based on being so slow. Endu potions will be almost a base requirement. That means you will be very slow and will be killed a lot be FGs.
2. Reaver in small man will be great.
3. Reaver in casual RVR, such as Maxistos BG will be fine. Here and there people will not want to invite you, but if you have a proactive attitude /send people, make own groups etc. you will be totally fine.
4. There is a subgroup of (elite) people who will only want certain groups. But then again - why run a reaver if you want to win the determination meta?

My advice is: Go for it. Getting a friendly guild ( which might take a while) may be a good idea in your reaver endeavor!

good luck, see you out there.

Very easy to solo on a reaver if you can manage to find stupid stealthers to attack you. Otherwise, stick to small man or FGs of people you play with regularly. I solo'd on my reaver when the server launched and used to sit at MMG and wait for the solo mids to run through (which was admittedly very hard when the server population was so high and Raunz's group and Telus would run through and 8v1 me every few minutes in between feeding Prime)... the only class I ever lost to 1v1 was a shadowblade with purge up. Otherwise, it was a lot of fun and good rps.

All that said, with the server at its current population, I don't know how viable soloing really is. I would say find a minstrel and cleric friend to trio/smallman with

on another freeshard, my Skald never dies quicker than to a Reaver. One particular one hits very quick and takes huge chunks off my health bar with maxed melee resists in place. I'm stunned the whole time.
