Anyone considered Hybrid spec like: 42 chants, 42 shield, 44 2H, 22 slash (full at, can be 25 with chants at)
Could go: Purge, Trip, FH, MoBlock, later Hail of Blows + Rain of XX for spikes in AT when you have cc timers.

Not really convinced. Has anyone tried something like this at this patch level?

I am actually working on a 2H/Shield hybrid atm. Level up as Crush and AT Slash

Higher chant:

42 Chant
42 Shield
30 Slash
4 Parry
39 2H (Rear-snare, woot woot!)

Lower chant:

32 Chant
11 Parry
39 Slash
42 Shield
39 2H

chants below 42 is not an option i'd say.

More slash vs 2H; could you explain your reasoning ?

OK i guess u want to go full r****d mode ..... here you go ...

U prolly didnt wanted much DPS (as u rolled a pala ...) and u sayd u are the endo bot so i will go like this ...

42 chants (red endo ... if YOU need to run the ressists chants then ure grp is dead anyway ...)(autotrain till 28)
42 shield (slam obv, guard maybe, engage ofc...)
36 slash (obv autotrain till 48)
34 2h

Yet i am a long time Paladin player and i would nevereverever play a 2h pala w/o celerity ^^

Enjoy

I dont see how giving up the 2h back snare is a good thing. Can you expand on the reasoning to go higher slash vs higher 2H ?

Youre damage comes from slash line .... not from 2h line ....
And for snare, you have hinder in slash already ....
Again i say, don't compare pala with arms, you are "support/utility" not DPS ...

That has to be the worst idea in this thread so far, go for 2handed and don't get the back snare.

Your maximum damage will come from 2h spec, your minimum damage will come from 1h spec, so having 1h spec composite 50 will give you more consistent damage, your maximum damage comes from 50 composite 2h.

I do think this spec is only for RR10 paladin:
39 2h ----> backsnare
42 chants ----> last endo buff
42 shield -- -> Slam
31 slash -- ---> 51 composite
10 parry -----> rest of points

But first you need to raise your RR, so don't go 2hander while raising your RR.

I suggest:
48 chants
39 slash
45 shield
14 parry
for starting RvR and for PvE raids

Both spec imply full autotrain chants and slash

I just read through this whole thread and laughed a little to myself as I am in the process of leveling a fully AT pala, and plan on using the following spec:

38 Chants
11 Parry
29 Slash
44 2H
42 Shields

Gonna be for a duo with buddy running a minstrel. Not looking for advice or criticism, we just think it will be fun. I do anyway

Good luck with your spec Typhus. As long as you have fun who cares what's 'rational'

:))) Your dmg comes from 2h line m8 ..2h spec gives you the weapon skill ..all slash line does is maintain the ****** variance albion has to put up with .. and.. i dont build 2h pala to play suport;)) wtf .. i go 2h for being with ATrain.

I go AT on chants and slash ..but i stay 44 2h ( 50 2h later when i m higher rr) , 39 crush ( i have anytime 7 sec stun if i want and a good dmg overall unlike slash which sucks donkey balls vs mid chain .. 1h dmg is consistent enough if i get pbt n such in my way), 48 chants ( i want the red heat and cold 20% resists for grp because i ve never seen friars in alb grps and hib heat dmg and mid cold dmg obliterates alb grps sometimes.. plus being a pala i must be grp oriented am I?:) ) and rest parry 16 or whateva s left ..so who needs slam and for what when most mercs spec shield and they got the points for it , all the arms spec shield and they got the points for it ..i believe paladin s/s is a complete waste of time .. keep an arms in the back who has det and can def your suport and doesnt zzzZZZZzzz and who can also slam and hit hard ,..instead of a paladin who cant guard so well as an arms , makes 0 dmg with his puny 1h 29 slash spec or whateva and being CC ed most of the time not helping suport for like 75% of the time .
In this patch where paladin has 1000 end range he must be 2h and part of the asist train in front with mercs , ok he gets cc ed but apart from mezz and a 9 sec stun at least he can provide some end and a proper spike dmg when hiting , mind you a 2h pala will hit same as a skald champion etc if not harder as he has dmg add with him all the time:)

I went avalonian with +13 strength and +12 qui.
Autotrained chants to lvl 36 and slash to level 48 for a total of 121 skill points.
Planning to go with RR5:
47 chants
50 2-hand
36 slash
7 Parry

and at RR10:
either
42 chants
42 shield
31 slash
39 2-hand
6 Parry

or
49 chants
50 2-hand
31 slash
14 parry

I have always find that with 2h or Hybrid pally, the hardest is to assemble a decent template.

Would anyone have any input on this? Something all cap, with shield (slam) and 2h so can be used low and high rank.

This is not too shabby, but 18 crush wearing 2h hurts a lot. :/

Code: Select all
Hybrid Paladin Template.
All Pieces (including 2H) are MP. Jewelry is mostly dirt cheap / quest items, except for the cloak.
