So now that necros are being implemented, does anyone remember what spec worked best? Pretty much just thinking PvE at this point.

Also, Inconnu best race? Starting stats? Can't remember what is most important for necros.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to dusting off my knowledge about this class.

If you want to go solo farming (for example undead mobs near Little Heaven) Death Sight is the way to go.
The remaining points can be spent in death servant for the pet d/q buff.

If you have a cleric buddy (for buffs and most important the healproc buff) you can go for complete Death Servant spec for mass pulling and quickcast bombs. (for example gobo farming in Lyo)

Dex and Int are the most important points on your char

Thanks, as for race/stats - is int more important? So Inconnu with 15 int / 10 dex maybe?

Or would it be 15 dex / 10 int?

Can't really tell what effect int has with a necro, does it have any effect on the pet? what about dex?

I'm not even sure that initial stats have an effect on the pet. I think that only bonuses are transfered.

I read many posts in old 4players forum but the opinions are different, anyone know for sure if only bonuses afflict pet stats or the whole stats of caster when summoning the pet? Thx in advance

The Necro pet has it's own base stats.

You want a "summoning suit" with capped con and hits, nothing else is really important. Your active hit points as a character when you summon your necro, determine your pets absorption or melee defense or something similar.

Then you want a template to rvr/ or even pve in, focusing on resists, and casting stats such as dex and acuity. While your pet has its own "stats" its resists and casting stats will change based on what you have. If this isn't 100% accurate for patch 1.68, it is still that resists are important and casting stats affect you in casting lifetap while your pet also fights.

I read in an old post that the character's starting stats, the +con does not transfer to the pet. Thus, the only thing they recommended was +INT and +Dex.

+Con adds to its absorption though right? :o

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

You want max con and hits when you summon it. This does indeed add to its absorb (as does toughness, so you want to go max level in toughness. Those 400 hits turn out to be more like 2000 hits).
After summon you want full buffs on the pet, red buffs if anyone has them, the pet has no caps on buffs. The shade only needs dex and int.
