Different PoV indeed. I don't bother snaring tanks unless there is no one left to rupt. Side snare is easy if the target is on you but that means you are being assisted. Before landing side snare on zerk/bm train, you die anyways.

Btw it's impossible to keep a red pet even with 50+15 instruments right now. I doubt you will be able to keep an orange one while twisting in a xp group.

I think you know everything about minstrel then if we can't hold orange during xp (even if the 2489 bug is not fixed.)
I solo RvR 50+15 instrument with level 60 levian (max red 61 = purple) during beta BTW.

Few month ago we got an instant level 30 right ?
With 85% equipement right ?

Was holding red mob without any trouble and trust me ... (since you haven't tried it seems) the big red boar 35 when we was 30 did way more damage than our armsman polearm 85% qual weapon who miss 50% of time. He was also able to tank adds without any kind of trouble.

Won't quote myself but 95% does like you said, and are useless in xp group.
Maybe thinking it's the only way ''afk chant bot'''. Well ... it's not !
And i won't let you tell everyone it's the only way. That's because of this kind of statement "you can't do anything beside pom" that we minstrels, even the good & active ones in XP, struggle to find groups.

I won't explain everything tho, test it yourself, or PM if you want me to show it in-game. :) .

As a few have pointed out - I think ATing to 12 is all an average person needs to do to be productive. Yes you might not get the 2x chain thrust snare - but you have a reliable side snare.

50 Instr.
35 Slash
25 Stealth

Stealth is just meant to be a camouflage from range to avoid being b-lined to from visibles. You shouldn't really move around in stealth (just asking to get PA'd). I like to park up on a hill or in some trees while stealthed. A good rule of thumb is to position yourself as if you do not have stealth. Don't be trying to go through mile gates or open areas in stealth mode. Assassins are not going to be able to PA you going 204% speed if you have good zig zag movement and don't run on autorun.

DD / DD / MEZ
Wait
Pop Endo
DD / DD / Stun
Side Snare
Amethyst Spam
DD off cooldown

This should pretty much win most 1v1's.

If you have a controlled pet - just icing on the cake.

Tasking to 20 is easy enough. from there i guess the truble starts.

To me it seems like 36 is a sweet spot to stop, as i can do:
it feels wrong not to max out my char when im first at it and grinding, but it doesnt give much after 36 it seems.

50 inst 44 thrust
50 inst 36 Slash/thrust and 25 stealth
50 inst 30 slash and 32 stealth

I went Saracen with dex/str/charisma at creation and plan for the 44 thrust spec but if i want to respec stealth later, i better go slash then?

As thrust spec it seems i need a lot more styles than if i go slash, at a already crowded qbar/binded keys

50/44 is really the only spec worth ITing for - and I rather wax my ass hair (unless had a group).

50 stealth / 30 slash / 32 stealth would be relevant once RR9.

I guess I really don't use stealth is a tool to move around. I use it as a way to just stay hidden / perched on a hill waiting to engage. If you can stomach the AT to 36 - then ya - would be worth it a bit. However, I don't think it will be noticeable. Most noticeable use would be when you are sprinting away from an 8 man - you can stealth away more safely without them finding you.

Cant say i will do the whole way (close to 17 now)
I hope something change when dinging 20 and i get chain armor, as now i have to rest with my lute betwine ganking blue con mobs most of the time. Think i take the disission when im 24 and can charm my first pet :)

Need at least 36 levels of AT to have a final spec of 44 thrust and 50 instruments. Having higher AT levels helps when switching to a stealth build (more slash/stealth). With the 44 thrust build the remaining points can't buy 45 thrust so no gain past 36 AT.

It is worth to AT a minstrel, without AT a thrust build will never be good.

AT will depend on me being able to make own grps or pet at 24 remakes things, also that i can start wear chain will help i HOPE

I think AT to lv40 is enough to get 50 inst 33 stealth 29 weapon or 50 inst 44 weapon.

Is there any other spec in high rr's that im not aware that would make AT to 48 viable?

Yeah 8 levels of autotraining in the slowest stretch of leveling to get slash from 29 to 30 is not worth it imo.

I know specced into instruments at 36. I will have 50/32/30 instead of full at 50/33/30. This one point less in slash is ok for me.
