Hello, i alway played "classic" inf with a common spec like
(rrk4 spec) 50 thrust 39 cs 36 envenom 36 stealth 27 DW (with full AT) i was asking myself about mercinf is it any good ? if so, what spec ? maybe begin like a classic spec then respec to mercinf ? in that case what is the best rank to have in order to respec ? what are the pros and cons between the two playstyles ? |

Wow, no inf genius here ?

You can run either spec. However I would wait until higher RR (at least RR5) to run a full MercFiltrator spec because you'll want to keep Dragonfang for that uber stun.
50 DW 50 Thrust Composite Stealth & Envenom Rest into CS for bubble breaker CS spec will still perform a bit better solo simply due to the huge openers and higher growth rate of CS. If you're going to group a lot you can run full DW spec earlier. But it all comes down to play style. |

Mercfil doesn't really develop until RR6 when you can have 34+16 in both stealth and venom. As you get more RRs you can drop both for more crit.

As a Merc infil what style do you use as your anytime.
when going Thrust that is |
50 DW front facing style for the most part. Dual Shadows or whatever its called. I dont think mercfils use an anytime. All positionals and reactionary. |
This is right. Dual Shadows as a frontal main style, backed up by dragonfang then dark tendrils after dragonfang lands. One prob with mercfil is you lack a decent snare style. You have a side snare which is hard to pull off if they run. Then a snare as part of a chain off your detaunt. If you full auto train and get RR8 you can get garrote while keeping 50/50/32/32 |
Mercinfi isn't bad but when I tested it in the past the bleed damage on dual shadows was alot less than it was for the merc. I think it can still be an effective spec but I still prefer cookie cutter setups with higher CS.

Totally agree but by the time you're RR8+ having the 50+x DW is a really nice, assuming you don't perf enemy assassins. RR8 CS inf has around 30+18DW, assuming full auto train and 44CS. This gives 57.6% chance to offhand swing. A 50+18DW inf has a 71.2% chance to swing, capped at 65% i believe leaving you room to drop some DW in your temp. |
30+18= 57% and 50+18= 71% and it caps anyway at 65%. so dw is capped at approx 58 total ???
11+rr3 and your off hand hitchance is then capped at 44 in DW Can someone verify this? |
No, you're way off, the % to swing isn't your composite DW. DW % = (DWx0.68)+25 |
If there is a hard cap at 65 %
65%=(X x 0,68)+ 25 Wouldn't that give a Comp DW at 48 (skill+items+RR) to get 65%??? Ofc you need to spec to get the styles you want. If this is correct i Guess it holds true for NS's as well. |
dual shadows has a lower dot then on the pages. in builder its 25 and real dot on uth is only 7 or 11 dont remember exactly.
made it not longer interesting for me to make 50DW |
You need 60DW to get your 65% off hand swing: 60x0.68 = 40.8 40.8+25 = 65.8% |
59.
