Does anyone else get this message when trying to run the new launcher (Uthgard.exe)?

"Uthgard.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

note: I have installed the VC++ 2015 Runtimes as was suggested before.

fixed. you need to install the launcher into your daoc directory, then it works.

No, it won't let me on WinXP, but is that really the reason? Is there really no way at all to login to Uthgard with a WinXP SP3 x86 OS, like how people used to make batch files to use connect.exe to bypass daoc portal in the years before?!

That doesn't do anything, still the same msg box upon execution.

Please, for your own security, don't use winXP anymore!

Windows XP will not be supported by Uthgard (just like it isn't supported by Microsoft).

I just want to be sure, there's absolutely no way at all or some method, to be able to connect while under XP-x86...if you tell me that's the way it is, then that's the way it is.

Thanks pal, let's hope there's some kind of compromise here somewhere.

I am a Windows XP user. If you can get launcher compatible with XP, or if someone knows a workaround, that would be awesome!

It is frustrating that my system can run the actual game, but I can't get into the game because the launcher doesn't run on my system.

As Windows XP seems to be supported now: Did anyone solve this problem?

  • I installed Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 for x86 (vc_redist.x86.exe).
  • I installed the Uthgard Launcher.
  • When it asked me about downloading/installing .NET 4.6, I said "Yes".
  • Installation finished, but when I start the launcher, I get the error that it's "not a valid Win32 application".

(I also tried it with not allowing the launcher to download/install .NET 4.6.)

Do you mean in "/Dark Age of Camelot/Uthgard/" or without the "Uthgard" folder, so that the uthgard.exe is in the same folder like the camelot.exe? I tried the first variant, but it didn't fix it. Not sure if trying the second variant might break something ...

I really don't think that instilling the launcher in your daoc folder will make any difference. Microsoft has dropped support for Windows XP and I fear that .NET 4.6 will not work at all on this system :(

Any news on whether this problem will be taken care of any time soon? The ticket has 18 confirmations, but no word of any kind as to whether it's even doable or not. Please let us know what's going on, whoever is working on this.
