DF bows, why?

The Darkness Falls bows.
Could someone please prove that they are in any form correct right now? (Not from memory, and not some vague information on a web-page that have long been updated. Preferably a screenshot of old delve.) There are two bows: The Brimstone xxx-bow of Anarchy, and the Basalt xxx-bow of Bedlam. 1. Isn't it so that alb only had the brimstone bow, while hib and mid only had the basalt bow? 2. How come mid have a 5.3 version, and alb and hib have a 5.7 version (instead of the 5.4 that I can find on records). 3. Mid also had earlier on Uthgard a 5.5 spd crafted one, what happened to that, and who implemented (and removed it and why). 4. Currently what I can find is that range of the bows were not realm- or type-based, they were item based. Throughout many bows in most realms the ranges 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1680, 1720, 1760 shows up. They are bound to the item not the realm or the bow type. Not all alb bows automatically have 1760, hib 1680, and mid 1600. These are the current numbers on the DF bows on Uthgard, but I fail to find anything telling me that they should have a range higher then 1600 (on all three realms). 5. All the basalt bows have a 1500 range heat proc (albeit not working), while the brimstone have none. Is that correct? Isn't the brimstone suppose to have a 1500, while hib have 1350 and mid 1500? How can this be corrected? This is Uthgard. We cannot just change the speed on all current bows, this is Uthgards code-base after all. The wrong bows will always exist, or until pre-change stock is depleted. Just like a lot of old items that were wrong, but still exist. You probably do not see them, or might not even know about them, but that is only because they can be 5+ years old, and hardly any are still on played accounts. Is it maybe possible to degrade them upon use? Kind of like the Alchemy Sicle, one hit turns it into 70% con. After that, you would have to either repair it after each use, or trade it to an NPC in town that would return a correct, and new version of the bow. As in: alb: Basalt -> correct Brimstone,, Brimstone -> correct Brimstone mid and hib: Basalt -> correct Basalt,, Brimstone -> correct Basalt PS. If you reply to dispute, provide a link for source to justify your claim, or don't bother. /viewtopic.php?f=14&t=22940 <- bugreport on speed /viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8050 <- insane custom justification /viewtopic.php?f=32&t=8792 <- illustrates the bugs damage boost |

I agree with you almost 100% on this post Fjott. The only problem is I dont have any "proof" of the things I remember vividly from Live. I do know for a 100% fact that Albs not only had access to the slowest bow, but also the longest range. Now whether that range was tied into the bow or into the character I could not say. Hibs were 2nd on range and 2nd on slow speed bows, with Mids having the shortest range and fastest bows. However the exact details and/or pictures are not available to me. Also, I could not be 100% certain on the bow speeds of exactly what they were. I know Albion was 5.7. I thought Hib was 5.5 and I thought Mid was 5.3, but that could be off.

I hate to do it, but I agree w/ Stinkebart and this should be changed. Hibernia should not have access to a 5.7 spd bow.
|
|
Yep stinkebart is right and hunters were the weakest archery class on classic because of crap bows and crap range, the easiest way would be to give all df bows the same delay and everyone is happy.
